The Second Time Around

Chris Nalley, 32, is facing the realities of a life changing surgery, for the second time.  In 2006, at 26 years old, Chris received his first lung transplant to replace his lungs ravaged by cystic fibrosis (CF).  It was an opportunity that allowed this active young man to maintain his love for sports and life in general.  Only eight months after his surgery, Chris ran his first 8K. This success was an accomplishment he could never have considered prior to his transplant.  Since then, Chris has gone on to play in flag football leagues, actively participate in kickball with River City Sports & Social Club, as well as enjoy a healthy life.

Six years after his first transplant, though, he recently made the trek to Duke Medical Center for several days of evaluation.  As a result of these evaluations, Chris will be added to the transplant list to receive his second transplant and the waiting game begins.  While Chris moves forward, waiting for that call that will save his life, he has also been tasked with quite a big responsibility. Once notified, Chris will return to Duke Medical Center and be responsible for covering over $10,000 in transplant fees.

With the help of friends this website is an effort to help Chris raise that money.  Richmond and the Tidewater communities of Virginia have stood by Chris over the past 6 years and we know they will again.  Please help Chris raise this money by donating.  No gift is too small and the power of sharing his story will only grow his support system.
Thank you  in advance for your support!
